Völkl is the Most Innovative Brand of the Year

Top Recognition for the Plus X Awards in the Sport Equipment Product Group / Ski model THE GRIZZLY honoured three times

Baar, 21 May 2008 – Völkl has won the prestigious Plus X award, placing it squarely in the ranks of the most successful participants in Europe's largest technology, sport and lifestyle contest. At yesterday's award ceremony in Cologne's Theater am Tanzbrunnen, the Straubing-based ski maker took home the top award in the "Sport Equipment" product group, the title of "Most Innovative Brand of the Year".

The jury justified their selection of Völkl as the leader for innovation based on the new all-mountain model THE GRIZZLY. It secured Völkl victories in three categories at once (innovation, design and functionality). The high-tech ski, hitting stores this autumn, combines a number of innovations, including the redeveloped Power Switch technology and the prize-winning iPT Wideride ski binding system (winner of the ispo European Ski Awards 2008). Having its name called three times at the Plus X award represents a particularly special honour for the company: it is the first time in the five-year history of the prize that any product took home so many awards in one single year.
